I worked with SNR Audio to create a website that feels friendly, lively, and easy to connect with, just like chatting with someone who loves an audiobook as much as you do. Instead of a cold, corporate look, I focused on warm illustrations, playful interactions, and smooth animations to make the whole experience feel inviting and down-to-earth.
The Challenge
Audiobooks are a personal thing. People choose them the way they choose what to read, which is to say emotionally, on a recommendation, or because something about it caught them.
Most sites selling audio do not reflect that at all. They default to a grid of covers, a search box and a cold, catalogue-driven feel that could be selling anything. It is efficient and it is completely forgettable.
SNR Audio needed the opposite. The whole proposition rests on the pleasure of a good story well told, so a corporate, transactional site would have been working against the product it was selling.
The Approach
I built the site around warmth rather than efficiency. Warm illustrations throughout give it a handmade quality that stock photography could never manage, and they carry personality on pages that would otherwise be plain.
Playful interactions and smooth animations add a sense of life to the browsing experience. The intent was for it to feel like talking to someone who genuinely loves audiobooks, rather than being processed by a shop.
None of that was decoration for its own sake. For a product bought on feeling, how the site feels to use is part of what is being sold.
The Result
A site that is friendly, lively and easy to connect with.
It stands apart from the category simply by being human, which turns out to be a lower bar than it should be and a genuine advantage where nobody else is trying.
