Project Overview

The Brief

I collaborated with LawnsOne to rethink their online presence and deliver a more focused, user-friendly website that better represents their expertise in lawn care. The existing site lacked structure and clarity, so I rebuilt it with an emphasis on speed, simplicity, and guiding visitors effortlessly toward the right services. The new approach introduces a more refined visual direction, clearer hierarchy across service pages, and sharper messaging that communicates value quickly. With improved flow, concise content, and well-placed calls to action, the site now feels considered, easy to navigate, and geared towards driving enquiries, underpinned by a flexible design system and a spacious, media-led layout.

The Challenge

LawnsOne knew exactly what they offered. The problem was that their website made visitors work to find it out.

Lawn care is a considered purchase. Someone landing on the site is usually dealing with a specific problem, whether that is moss, patchy growth, or a lawn that has been neglected for a couple of seasons. They want to know within a few seconds whether this company handles their particular issue and whether it is worth picking up the phone.

The old site did not answer that quickly enough. Services sat at the same level with no sense of priority, the structure gave no clue about where to start, and the pages read as a list of things the business could do rather than an answer to what the visitor actually needed.

02

The Approach

I started with structure rather than visuals. Before any design happened we worked out what the service pages needed to cover, what order they belonged in, and what a visitor needed to understand before they would consider getting in touch.

From there I built a flexible design system so every service page is assembled from the same set of components. That keeps the site consistent as it grows, and it means LawnsOne can add a new service later without needing a new design each time.

The layout is deliberately spacious and media led. Lawn care is a visual business and the results are the strongest argument for the work, so the design gives photography room to do that job rather than crowding it with text.

03

The Result

The site now explains a broad range of services without overwhelming anyone, and moves people towards an enquiry at the point where they are most likely to make one.

It is fast, built to stay fast, and works properly on a phone, which matters for a business whose customers are often standing in the garden that prompted the search in the first place.
